Retail point-of-sale terminal suck

Would it kill POS hardware manufacturers to engineer some type of advanced credit card POS terminal that doesn’t require me to guess whether I need to press Credit, Enter or Cancel to use my credit card as a credit card? Just one or two little buttons, with letters printed on them? Please?
